Eight Down and Seven to GO!

Fridaywe got 2 more engines running. Trevor and Chris got their 8.1L HPCR going and Joe and Cody got the 466T with the "P" pump running. Videos are coming.

Engines Five and Six

Engines five and six started today. First is Brandon and Luke with an 8.1L HPCR and then Tim and Ben with an 8.1L HPCR. Both of these groups started out with engines without cranks and put them together with from spare parts. Tim and Ben got a good start and had a damaged block so they sort of started over a couple weeks into the project. Brandon and Luke started with a 6.8L but that project fell through and they also got a late start on the 8.1L.

Day Two Engine Startup

Today we got 2 more engines running. First was Tanner and Brad with a 8.1L HPCR and then Tom and Doug fired up the 7.6L with the mechanical "P" pump. Here are the pics and videos.

National PAS Contest

I would like to congratulate the NICC JD TECH students on their great performance at National Post-Secondary Students AgriculturalMachinery Service Technician competition in Des Moines last week. Colter Thomas and Trevor Hanson placed 3rd and Tim Walker and Ben Hartogh placed 4th. Thanks for taking some of spring break to represent NICC at national competition. I know some people wish they would have placed a little higher but 3rd or 4th IN THE NATION is nothing to be ashamed of.

2012 Iowa PAS Ag Mechanics Contest

On Feb 7th we hosted the State PAS Ag Mechanics Contest. Thirteen teams of two from Northeast Iowa Community College, Iowa Lakes Community College, Hawkeye Community College and Iowa Central Community College competed to earn the right to compete at the National PAS AMSTA Contest. The National contest will be held during the week of March 12th at Des Moines.

The NICC teams placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th so we will have the opportunity to send 2 teams to national competition and attempt to capture the national title 2 years in a row. The 1st and 2nd place teams will be representing us this year Ben Hartogh, Tim Walker, Trevor Hanson and Colter Thomas will be representing us this year and I'm sure they will have a target on their backs after the 1st place national finish last year by Marcus Wenthold and Brion Barrett. Good Luck gentlemen we are proud of you!

I would like to thank Eileen, Kristi, Marcus, Luke, Patrick, Dean, Jason, Derek, Luke, Brad, Chris and Mike for their assistance the contest went off without a hitch.
