JDIT Presentations

During John Deere Information Technology Class we finished up with group presentations. The presentations had a features and benefits focus and were presented to the class. We spent a lot of time building Power Points with pictures and videos to prepare for a 15-20 minute presentation. When they were done we put on our good hats, connected to a projector and spent a few hours learning about new equipment.

Service Advisor Certification

In November when the second year students came back I locked them in the computer lab for about 3.5 hours a day with a few breaks to make live connections to the equipment. The lab projects covered everything from programming controllers and diagnosing electrical problems to connecting their cell phone to the 8320R. I think most understand now that Bluetooth is not a personal hygiene problem.

Most of the students made at least 10 live connections to different machines and looked up more tech manual information than they care to remember. I'm sure they are all as excited as I am about Service Advisor 4.0 and Windows 7 updates I will be doing in January. It will be AWESOME!
The end result is that the average score for Service Advisor Certification was 93.6% with 100% of the students certified.
Good Job

Its Been Awhile

I've been a little busy and haven't taken time to post anything new.

First on the agenda is to add a few names to the list of FFA American Farmers from the class.
Joey Redman also received the award for 2010. He is sponsored by Erlanson's in Albert Lea, Mn.

Jude Rochford and Randy Slick received the award for 2009 and they are sponsored by Hub City Implement in Oelwein.
Sorry about the exclusion. I would have posted pictures if I had them.

Congratulations Men
