State PSA AMSTA Contest

On February 18th we participated in the state Post Secondary Ag Student (PAS) Ag Machinery Service Technician Award (AMSTA) contest at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo.

Here are pictures from the contest. We won 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th place teams. We also had 7 of the top 10 individuals. Looking good now off to national competition.

While the sophomores were playing with little engines the freshman were playing with combines before they left for OJT.

At the start of the semester we did Consumer Products/Engine class. We start with the little toys before we get the big toys out.

John Deere Information Technology

We got the sophomores back from OJT just in time for one class to finish out the semester. We spent several days researching information on the computers and practicing it in the lab. A guest speaker from DTAC presented to us for a day (Thanks Eric). The students all took the John Deere Service ADVISOR certification and they are all now certified! The last day of class the students all gave presentations on new John Deere equipment. Maybe we will give the computers a little rest after break.
